The Women's and Gender Studies Department is honored to receive an SSU IRA grant for the Gender Studies Program Series 2021-2022.  For the past 12 years, Dr.

Hannah Brownlee was accepted into the Doctoral program of Psychology at the University of Delaware this past summer.

Dr Steve Estes, History professor and department chair, is the recipient of the 2020-2021 Excellence in Research Scholarship and/or Creative Activity Award! 

In honor of Pride Month, the CSU is highlighting 30 faculty, staff, alumni, and students who "are committ​ed to breaking down closet doors year-round.​" We're proud to have two School of Social Science alumni on this list and advocating for and supporting our LGBTQIA communities! 

Psychology major Garrett Ennis has been awarded a Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholarship!

Amish Patel, a first-generation college student who is double-majoring in Psychology and Philosophy has been awarded a Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholarship!

Two Women's and Gender Studies majors have been profiled on the City of Santa Rosa's webpage as part of their Multicultural Roots Project.

On April 7^th and 9^th Sonoma State’s School of Social Science and the Geography, Environment, and Planning Department hosted the first California Beaver Summit.
